The A.D. and Lucy Henderson Legacy Society recognizes donors who have included Saint Andrew’s School in their estate plans, have made leadership gifts in support of endowment, or have chosen to establish an endowment fund. Estate gifts may take many forms, such as an outright bequest or a remainder trust, and designate Saint Andrew’s as the ultimate beneficiary. Members of the society will be recognized at appropriate school functions. They will also receive a specially designed Legacy Society pin to be worn when attending school events and festivities.
In 1992, Lucy Henderson established The Lucy Henderson Unrestricted Endowment Fund with a gift to Saint Andrew’s School, and her bequest of $1 million continues to be a cornerstone gift to our school. At the time, it was the largest single gift ever contributed, and it more than doubled the school’s endowment. Proceeds from this and other endowment funds provide a permanent source of income that enables the Head of School and Board of Trustees to continually maintain and improve the tradition of excellence in education that is at the heart of Saint Andrew’s School.
