In this exciting two-week learning and adventure camp, you will “dive” into the science and nature of our surrounding aquatic ecosystems. Each day will include an ocean adventure field trip and a marine biology lab learning experience. Field trips will include snorkeling coral reefs, identifying marine animals, exploring marine rescue and education centers, stand-up paddle boarding through mangroves, snorkeling over the remains of a shipwreck, and contributing to ocean conservation efforts. Lab learning experiences will allow you to investigate like a marine biologist to make discoveries about aquatic ecological topics such as animal structures and behaviors, animal range of tolerance for environmental conditions, animal adaptations, ecosystem analysis, and marine conservation.
(Although all snorkeling adventures will take place at life-guarded beaches and utilize the assistance of personal flotation devices, participating students must pass a swim test. Use of personal snorkeling equipment is encouraged to help ensure proper individual fit and support comfort.)
