Saint Andrew’s students Iris Hua ’27 and Brandon Fina ’27 have earned spots in the Young Entrepreneurs Academy (YEA!) Saunders Scholars Competition after excelling in the Boca Chamber YEA! Investor Panel event on March 5 at the Boca Raton Innovation Center (BRIC). Their impressive business pitches secured them a place in the national competition in Rochester, NY, where they will compete for college scholarships and national recognition.
The Boca Chamber YEA! Investor Panel event is a “Shark Tank”-style competition where students from grades 6-12 present their business ideas before a panel of local industry leaders. Participants had five minutes to pitch their plans and secure funding to launch their businesses. Of the 23 students representing nine schools, 15 were from Saint Andrew’s, showcasing the school’s strong commitment to fostering entrepreneurial talent.
Iris’ Shower Okey business aims to “transform the shower into a smart, sound-immersive space that solves everyday inconveniences and brings real ‘shower room karaoke’ to the users through innovative technology.” The mission of Brandon’s venture, Culture Crates, “is to connect people to a new country every month by sending them gifts and foods that deeply resemble that country.” Their compelling presentations, detailed business plans, and entrepreneurial spirit earned them two of the top three spots in the competition.
Saint Andrew’s School is proud to sponsor and host the Boca Chamber Young Entrepreneurs Academy (YEA!), which is held on Saint Andrew’s campus, continues to cultivate young business leaders, and these students exemplify the innovation and ambition that define its success.
Congratulations to all Saint Andrew’s students who competed in the Boca Chamber YEA! Investor Panel event.
