SA’s Filet For Friends Donates Fresh Catch to Support Local Community

Over spring break, Saint Andrew’s School students demonstrated purpose in action through an impactful service initiative benefiting the local community. Chris Ged ’26, Joe Ged ’26, and Chris D’Angelo ’26, the co-presidents of the school’s Filet For Friends chapter, along with other members of the club, donated fresh fish caught during the Jimmy Johnson “Quest for the Ring” Fishing Tournament.

Through their efforts, the students caught 144 pounds of fish, filleted them, and donated all the tuna, mahi-mahi, and kingfish to Boca Helping Hands. The donation will be prepared and distributed to individuals and families in need throughout the community.

Filet For Friends is a nonprofit organization committed to providing “meals on reels,” helping to combat food insecurity by delivering fresh, nutritious meals to those who need them most. This meaningful initiative reflects our students’ commitment to service, leadership, and making a difference beyond the classroom.
