Saint Andrew’s Community Honors Veterans

SA 4 USA and veterans pose by spirit rock for Veterans Day

On Friday, November 8, the Upper School students gathered for a special Veterans Day assembly. SA 4 USA is an Upper School student-led club that shows gratitude to those who have served and currently are serving our country invited Mr. Paul Duros, parent of two Saint Andrew’s graduates, Peter ’16 and Alex ’24, and veteran of the U.S. Army, to speak at the assembly. Command Sergeant Major Paul P. Duros, who served our country for 32 years, talked about the meaning behind Veterans Day and how those in the community can demonstrate respect on Veterans Day and every day for those who have or continue to serve our country.

Members of SA 4 USA presented Mr. Duros, along with eight other veterans who serve as faculty and staff at Saint Andrew's School, with bouquets of roses along with thank-you notes written by members of the club. The club also painted the spirit rock and made a video featuring SA students thanking each veteran on campus, which was shown during the assembly.

Today, November 11, is officially Veterans Day, and we hope that all members of our community here at SA will find some time during their day to show their gratitude and respect for those who have sacrificed for our country.
