Saint Andrew’s Alumni and Faculty Chosen to Represent at Inaugural TEDNext Conference

Alumna Lucia Martin ’19, Jake Goldberg ’21, and faculty member Dr. Lisa Winer were selected to join the inaugural TED-Ed cohort at the TEDNext conference in Atlanta, Georgia, celebrating TED-Ed's 10th anniversary of Student TED talks. 

Of all TED-Ed participants worldwide, only twenty alumni and eight educators were chosen for this event, which explored "what's next" in driving change at personal, local, and global levels. Lucia and Jake delivered their talks at TEDxSaintAndrewsSchool in 2018 and 2019, respectively. 

Reflecting on the impact of TED-Ed and the conference, which had 900 people in attendance, Jake shared, "TED-Ed has allowed me to self-reflect and grow not only as a public speaker and an emerging leader but also as a human being. These past four days have allowed me to create new connections with students, educators, and innovators of all ages." 

SA administrator and faculty, Mrs. Cathy Jennings and Dr. Mandy Albert, also attended the innovative conference, further showcasing the school's commitment to fostering creativity, leadership, and global citizenship. Their presence at TEDNext highlights the importance of empowering students and educators alike to share their voices and ideas on a world stage, continuing the proud TED-Ed legacy at Saint Andrew's School. 

This experience aligns with Saint Andrew’s strategic initiative of being home to game changers and our Portrait of a Scot by having students and faculty committed to excellence.

The 8th annual TEDxSaintAndrewsSchool, generously sponsored by the Florescue Family Foundation, will take place on April 17, 2025.
