National Speaker Stephen Hill Brings Awareness to Mental Health and Substance Use

Stephen Hill

Saint Andrew’s School hosted Stephen Hill, a nationally recognized speaker on mental health and substance use prevention, on Tuesday, March 4. As the founder of Speak Sobriety, a bestselling author, recovery coach, and defense attorney, Mr. Hill has shared his powerful story of addiction and recovery with thousands across the country.

During his visit, Mr. Hill presented to both Middle and Upper School students in two separate sessions, offering insight into the impact of mental health and substance use while providing practical tools for making healthy choices. He also emphasized how one’s personal decisions and actions influence not only themselves but also their family, friends, and the broader community.

Parents were invited to attend a special session in the morning, where Mr. Hill encouraged open dialogue about substance use prevention and mental health awareness. He stressed parents' important role in guiding their children toward healthy choices and fostering a supportive home environment.

Reflecting on the event, Matt Pursel, Dean of Students, shared, “We were excited to host Stephen Hill, a nationally recognized speaker on the topics of mental health, substance misuse, and his journey to recovery. His story resonated with many of the parents and students in attendance, and we hope the visit will continue to make our community a healthier place overall.”
