Honoring Our Veterans

Faculty Veterans

On Saturday, November 11, people across the United States will be observing Veterans Day as a way to honor those who have served and are currently serving in the U.S. military.

We are proud to say that here at Saint Andrew’s, we currently have four veterans and one active member of the armed forces as part of our faculty and staff.

  • Vince Antoniotti - Captain, Field Artillery Officer, U.S. Army

  • Robert Ercolano - Sergeant, Saxophone Instrumentalist, U.S. Air Force

  • David Goldberg - Senior Airman, United States Air Force Presidential Honor Guard, U.S. Air Force

  • Ralph Ianniello - Corporal, U.S. Marine Corps

  • Emily Nichols - Sergeant, 13th Army Band, Florida Army National Guard, U.S. Army (currently serving)

In honor of Veterans Day, student members of ‘SA 4 USA’ met in Mariani Great Hall on Wednesday afternoon to write holiday cards for members of the special forces. Margaux Muhletaler, the club’s president, said that the holiday cards that the club members write will be sent to Love Troop. This non-profit organization will ensure that the cards are delivered to various bases worldwide.

Club members have also been working on five special cards for Mr. Antoniotti, Mr. Ercolano, Mr. Goldberg, Mr. Ianniello, and Ms. Nicols. “Each one will have a personal message, and everyone in the club will sign them,” said Muhletaler.

On Friday, club members will spread out between the three schools to hand out small American flags to each student as they arrive at school as a tribute to Veterans Day.

Club members will host a card-writing luncheon this Saturday at the Boca Golf and Tennis Country Club. They have invited students from Saint John Paul II Academy and Saint Jude Catholic School to join them for this event to observe Veterans Day in a meaningful way.
