The Harvard Men’s Lacrosse team achieved a milestone for the ages this past weekend, securing the program’s first-ever victory over a nationally-ranked No. 1 team with a thrilling 13-12 upset of Syracuse. Leading the charge for the Crimson was senior captain Sean Jordan ’22.

A standout long-stick midfielder, Sean’s leadership and composure were on full display during the high-stakes matchup. The game was a back-and-forth battle that saw Harvard erase a late two-goal deficit in the fourth quarter. Sean himself provided one of the most pivotal moments of the afternoon. With Harvard trailing by one and just under five minutes remaining, he fired home a "juice goal" to tie the game at 12-12. His tally sparked the momentum that allowed the Crimson to find the game-winner with just 50 seconds left on the clock.

Beyond the scoresheet, Sean’s impact as a captain has been instrumental in the team's perfect 3-0 start to the 2026 season. Known for his work ethic and "model of a Harvard Lacrosse player" mentality, Sean has helped anchor a defensive unit that held the powerhouse Orange to a season-low first-half scoring total.

"To be elected captain of this team is the greatest responsibility that I have ever been given," Sean said earlier this season. On Saturday, he proved exactly why his teammates placed their trust in him, leading from the front in a victory that will be remembered in Cambridge for years to come.

As a four-year member of Saint Andrew’s boys lacrosse team, he was named a USA lacrosse All-American twice and was part of two high school state championship-winning lacrosse teams. He was a highly recruited lacrosse player from Saint Andrew’s.

Congratulations, Sean, on an incredible win and a career-defining performance! Go Scots and Go Crimson!
