Seniors Showcase Artwork at Annual IB Diploma Programme Visual Art Exhibition

IB Visual Artists pose with their artwork

Lisa Shnurenko and Lorea De La Torre, two senior IB Diploma Programme visual arts students, will be showcasing their artwork at the IB Diploma Programme Visual Art Exhibition in the Domenico Mazzone Visual Arts Building and Anthony Newley Family Art Gallery on Tuesday, April 9 from 5:30 - 6:30 pm.

This annual event will feature multiple pieces of artwork done in various mediums created by Lisa and Lorea. This exhibit is part of the students' official IB internal assessment as well as a way to showcase their artwork.

Mr. Chuck Pawlik said of Lisa's work, "Her artistic style is varied, exploring multiple mediums. The artwork reaches back to her home in Kyiv, (Ukraine) with the theme running through all her work of home, security, and identity."

When speaking about Lorea's work, Mr. Pawlik said, "(She) utilizes digital drawing techniques to explore personal themes of identity, self-discovery, and the human experience in a complex world. She aims for emotional responses from her viewers, provoking deeper reflection on these issues."

The gallery show will remain open until April 25 and will be open to visitors during school hours.
