SA Teacher and Lynn Alumna Shares Music and Leadership Lessons at Lynn University

Lynn alumna Sergeant Emily Nichols '16, a vocalist, low brass musician, and educator at Saint Andrew's School, recently returned to Lynn's campus to speak to Professor Joanna Sackel's Feminism class.

Drawing on her experiences in both military and civilian settings, Sergeant Nichols shared insights on leadership and the role of music as a powerful tool for service, connection, and empowerment. She highlighted how her career has allowed her to bridge communities through performance and education, while also breaking barriers in traditionally male-dominated fields.

In addition to her work as an educator and military musician, Sergeant Nichols has taken the stage at major international events; most recently performing the national anthem at the FIFA Club World Cup final.
