The TaterScots (Team 641) competed in a series of elimination matches over the weekend in order gain the opportunity to advance to the state tournment, and the TaterScots did not dissapoint. Of the 25 teams in the league that participated, only 6 were selected to represent the region, and Saint Andrew's TaterScots was chosen as one of those six teams. They will compete at states later this month in Winter Haven, Florida.

Beyond qualifying for elimination matches based on their performance throughout the season, they also received one of the two Inspire Awards - the highest award given within the program that is a culmination of all the other award categories. According to the FIRST Tech Challenge website, winning an Inspired Award means that the team is a "strong ambassador for FIRST programs and a role model FIRST team."
