Students taking Social Entrepreneurship and Honors Entrepreneurship with Ms. Magaletti attended the Lynn University Civility Summit for Social Enterprise on Thursday, December 5, at Lynn University in Boca Raton.
Students workshopped ideas for social enterprises with Lynn University faculty and students in the Watson Institute and pitched their ideas in a Shark Tank to a panel of judges.
They also enjoyed a cultural fair and a global market of local social entrepreneurship vendors. Students were able to speak with local vendors regarding their start-up journey and discuss how they measured their impact. There was also a parade, music, and dance sessions to celebrate the event.
The keynote speaker for the event was Sean Greenwood, the Director of PR at Ben & Jerry's. He spoke about corporate social responsibility and mission alignment. Students enjoyed samples of Ben & Jerry's at the end of the session.
