SA Teams Up With Boca Helping Hands For Thanksgiving

US and MS with boxes for Boca Helping Hands

For over a decade, the Saint Andrew’s community has collaborated with Boca Helping Hands to bring some much-needed Thanksgiving cheer and holiday meals to local families. Every year, Saint Andrew’s students across all three divisions come together to create Thanksgiving baskets, which are filled with all the staples needed for a Thanksgiving holiday meal. This year Saint Andrew's was able to donate a total of 435 boxes!

When asked about the importance of donating these boxes, Christel Callahan, French teacher and main organizer of this drive said, "SA's annual Thanksgiving Basket Drive offers an opportunity to engage with our immediate community in a very meaningful way by providing much-needed food to local families and supporting the work of Boca Helping Hands. We want our students to find actionable ways to show compassion. By participating in the Thanksgiving Basket Drive, students become more aware of the pressing need for food in our immediate community. By donating, they enact positive change. Eventually, we hope they'll take those skills with them when they leave Saint Andrew's and that they will continue to lead community efforts and live a life of service."

On Monday, November 18, students in Lower, Middle, and Upper School helped to load the boxes onto pallets to be put on a Boca Helping Hands truck. We are so proud of our community for coming together to help families in our area. Go Scots!
