On Friday, October 27, Prek students had the opportunity to learn about guide dogs and how they help those who are blind or visually impaired.
Page Farrell and Allen Preston brought their guide dogs Verlina, 12 1/2, and Belle, 3 1/2, and spoke with the students about how their guide dogs help them each and every day.
They also explained how they received their guide dogs, the schooling both the guide dogs and the owners have to attend, how to act around guide dogs when they are working, and how to help those who are visually impaired should they need assistance.
Mr. Preston and Belle also gave a demonstration showing how Belle helps Mr. Preston find trash cans and doors when he is walking around in an unfamiliar place.
