MS & US Chapels Celebrate Black History Month

US, MS - A Celebration of Black History 2.27.24, 2.29.24

Middle and Upper School students celebrated Black History Month during chapel on Tuesday, February 27, and Thursday, February 29.

The Upper School chapel presentation was supported by students and faculty members involved in Saint Andrew's Black Student Union. The program included readings, personal reflection essays, and musical offerings by students and faculty.

Assistant Head of Middle School Mr. Jose Pozo led the Middle School chapel by teaching an interactive lesson on the emergence of hip-hop and rap. He spoke about the importance of the hip-hop movement when it began in the 1970s and demonstrated his deejaying skills.

The Upper School Jazz Band performed at both chapels.
