Congratulations to Kathryn Anglemyer, Stella Tau, and Guy Riskind for being recognized as our most recent Learner Profile Award winners!
These students were identified by the members of each grade-level team as being students who clearly embody the IB Learner Profile Attribute of Knowledgeable.
According to IB, Knowledgeable learners “...develop and use conceptual understanding, exploring knowledge across a range of disciplines. [They] engage with issues and ideas that have local and global significance.” To honor the virtues that they bring to our school community as role models, the grade-level teams also wrote a short summary of why these students epitomize being knowledgeable.

Grade 6 - Kathryn Anglemyer
Kathryn is a (quiet) superhero and a shining example of dedication and discipline. Her mastery of time management, coupled with a devoted work ethic, ensures she navigates tasks efficiently while consistently surpassing expectations. Her clear understanding of goals and standards serves as a guiding force, propelling her towards achievement. What's truly impressive is her thoughtful approach to writing, delving deep into concepts and consistently bolstering her ideas with well-supported arguments. Her relentless pursuit of knowledge and genuine passion for learning is inspiring!
Grade 7 - Stella Tau
This student is constantly looking for understanding. She wants to understand and be able to use what she learns, and she aims to excel across all academic subjects. In addition, she aims for a clear understanding of assignments and is always willing to go above and beyond to engage with ideas in the classroom and beyond
Grade 8 - Guy Riskind
Not afraid of asking questions, Guy uses his inquisitive nature to deepen his learning. He finds connections between subjects and topics that might go unnoticed by his peers, encouraging everyone around him to further their understanding of themselves and the world around them. Guy pushes himself to go above and beyond as a student and then shares his knowledge with the greater school community.
