MS Students Honored with Learner Profile Award for Inquirer

Inquirer Award Winners

This week in Chapel we recognized three students whom the grade level teams selected as students who clearly embody the IB Learner Profile attribute of being Inquirers.

According to the IB, as Inquirers:
“We nurture our curiosity, developing skills for inquiry and research. We know how to learn independently and with others. We learn with enthusiasm and sustain our love of learning throughout life.”

To honor the virtues that they bring to our school community as role models, the grade-level teams wrote a short summary of what traits they possess that made them stand out as inquirers.

Grade 6 - Aden Berman
What sets Aden apart is not only his quest for knowledge and curiosity but also his quiet confidence in being himself. He goes to great lengths to strengthen his knowledge base and does so with positive determination. To add to this fabulousness, he is flexible, collaborative and is always willing to help others out, both students and teachers alike. Aden exemplifies the fine qualities of a SCOT.

Grade 7 - Joseph Honig
Intrinsically motivated to learn, Joseph asks questions to clarify concepts and gain greater understanding. It is clear he genuinely wants to know things, not just to answer questions on assignments, but rather to dig deep and consider new perspectives. Joseph's quest for new knowledge positively impacts the learning community as he humbly shares the knowledge he’s gained helping those around him to also go further.

Grade 8 - Raja Mahtani
Being an “inquirer” does not simply mean a person who asks questions. It deals more with a person who uses their inquisitive nature to deepen their learning. And Raja does just that. Often the first to arrive to class and the last to leave, simple explanations do not suffice for Raja, as he is constantly seeking out his teachers to ensure he not only understands the bigger picture but also understands his place within it.

Join us in congratulating these students for being outstanding inquirers!
