MS IB Learner Profile Awards – Risk-Taker

This week during assembly, we recognized students selected by the grade-level teams for being students who embody the IB Learner Profile attribute of being a Risk-Taker. Below is the list of students and the words that were said about them by their teachers. 

Grade 6

Victoria Siero: This student approaches every challenge with curiosity, creativity, and courage. She takes initiative to independently research topics of personal interest, crafting inventive props and interactive displays to share her learning with others. Fearless in expressing her ideas, she inspires her classmates to do the same. 

Luiza Lopes Queiroz: This student meets every challenge with a smile, a positive spirit, and unwavering determination. She works both independently and collaboratively, offering help and encouragement to any student, regardless of grade level. A true leader, she demonstrates resilience, embraces mistakes as opportunities for growth, and leads with kindness in everything she does.

 

Grade 7

Camden Klingsberg: Camden exemplifies the qualities of a true risk-taker through his willingness to embrace every opportunity with determination and resilience. During our recent trip, he participated fully, maintained a positive attitude, and supported his peers with maturity and strong communication. Whether stepping onto the varsity tennis court to face a much larger opponent or simply finding ways to connect and grow, Camden’s resourcefulness and authentic drive to make a space for himself make him deserving of this recognition. 

Blair Halperin: Blair shows what it means to be a risk-taker by stepping into new experiences with thoughtfulness and determination. Through her TEDx performance, she pushed herself to grow. She also consistently represents MS SASSA with pride. Her steady progress in design and willingness to stretch beyond her comfort zone make her a great candidate for this nomination. 

 

Grade 8

Jordyn Smoke: This student consistently shows quiet courage and determination as they take on new challenges. Whether stepping into unfamiliar academic territory or putting themselves out there in new situations, they approach each opportunity with an open mind and a willingness to grow. Their resilience, thoughtfulness, and readiness to embrace discomfort reflect a deep understanding of what it means to be a risk-taker. They remind us that meaningful learning and personal growth often begin just outside our comfort zones. 

Lila Male: This student is fearless in their pursuit of new experiences and opportunities. Whether exploring innovative ideas in the classroom or stepping outside their comfort zone through extracurricular activities, they embody the spirit of a risk-taker. Their enthusiasm for learning, combined with a resilient and resourceful mindset, allows them to navigate uncertainty with confidence. They inspire others by showing that growth comes from stepping into the unknown and giving it your all.
