MS IB Learner Profile Awards – Knowledgeable

Middle School students on stage recognized for IB Learner trait Knowledgeable at Saint Andrew's School

This week during assembly, we recognized students selected by the grade-level teams for being students who embody the IB Learner Profile attribute of being Knowledgeable. Below is the list of students and the words that were said about them by their teachers. 

 

Grade 6:

Dylan Katzman: This student has an ability to connect his love of travel and languages with his academic pursuits. A passionate reader, he dives into historical topics like the Holocaust, enriching his understanding of global issues. In class, he makes meaningful contributions by relating personal experiences, showcasing his global thinking, and inspiring his peers.

Anthony Johnson: This student is being celebrated for his extensive knowledge of various topics and his enthusiasm for sharing intriguing facts with the class. His ability to engage with local and global issues and connect them to our studies enriches our classroom discussions. His curiosity and passion for learning inspires his peers to explore new ideas and deepen their understanding of the world.

 

Grade 7:

Eden Glassman: This student exemplifies the qualities of a Knowledgeable learner through her excitement for exploring a wide range of topics and her eagerness to learn new things. Her depth of understanding enables her to teach and support others, fostering a collaborative and enriching environment. Her curiosity and ability to connect knowledge across disciplines make her truly deserving of this recognition.

Chester Tablis: This Scot embodies the spirit of the Knowledgeable award with his genuine curiosity and deep understanding across a range of topics. He goes beyond simply learning facts, exploring broader concepts and their significance both locally and globally. His ability to explain complex ideas to his peers makes him a valuable and insightful member of our community.

 

Grade 8:

Clara Orlandi: This Scot is always willing to go deeper, her desire for knowledge is an inherent part of her personality. Her ability to make connections across disciplines demonstrates her commitment to using her thinking skills to their utmost capabilities. This student recognizes the importance of taking her time with her studies in order to truly understand concepts and ideas to the highest degree, and, more importantly, she also uses her time to help others better understand concepts and ideas.

Callie Jennings: This student is not afraid of asking questions, she uses her inquisitive nature to deepen her learning. She finds connections between subjects and topics that might go unnoticed by her peers, encouraging everyone around her to further their understanding of themselves and the world around them. This Scot pushes herself to go above and beyond as a student and then shares her knowledge with the greater school community.
