This week during assembly, we recognized students selected by the grade-level teams for being students who embody the IB Learner Profile attribute of being a great Communicator. Below is the list of students and the words that were said about them by their teachers.
Grade 6
Leonardo Schuch: Leonardo is a fantastic communicator who listens carefully and shares his ideas with kindness and respect. As a bilingual speaker, he expresses himself clearly in more than one language and considers different perspectives before responding. Even in a busy or noisy environment, Leo stays focused and thoughtful in his communication. His ability to listen, reflect, and respond with care makes him a great example of an IB Communicator!
Lucas Seltzer: Lucas is a strong communicator who confidently shares his thoughts and ideas. He is not afraid to have difficult conversations and always expresses his opinions openly and honestly, even when it’s challenging. He also worked hard to learn new languages so he could connect better with friends who speak different languages. Lucas' dedication to communication and understanding others makes him a great example of an IB Communicator!
Grade 7
Ana Sofia Brito: Ana Sofia exemplifies the qualities of a strong communicator through her confidence, creativity, and willingness to advocate for others. She communicated teacher/student connections on behalf of friends in need and approached her Girl Scout Cookie sales with ingenuity and an entrepreneurial spirit. Ana Sofia’s ability to use her communication skills to support others and bring ideas to life makes her truly deserving of this recognition.
Lucas Male: Lucas exemplifies the qualities of a strong communicator through his constant engagement and willingness to contribute to class discussions. He asks questions, shares his thoughts, and remains actively involved, even when he doesn’t have all the answers. Beyond his own learning, he uses his communication skills to encourage and build up others, offering positivity and support when they need it most. His authenticity and desire to do the right thing make him truly deserving of this recognition.
Grade 8
Julia Anthony: A skilled communicator in multiple languages, Julia confidently and thoughtfully expresses her ideas both in writing and verbally. Her proactive approach to communication with teachers and peers reflects a genuine desire to connect, share, and understand. Julia articulates her thoughts with clarity, inspiring others through their words. Julia's ability to communicate with confidence and authenticity makes her a true example of what it means to be an effective communicator.
Aiden Herzog: A standout communicator, Aiden uses his voice and creativity to engage others in meaningful ways. In the classroom, he speaks his mind with confidence, contributing thoughtful insights. Beyond the classroom, Aiden expresses himself powerfully through photography and video, capturing moments that tell compelling stories and connect our community. His leadership in presenting at the Middle School Assembly showcases his ability to inform, inspire, and captivate an audience. Aiden's dedication to effective communication across multiple platforms makes him truly deserving of this award.
