MS IB Learner Profile Awards – Inquirer

This week during assembly, we recognized students selected by the grade-level teams for being students who embody the IB Learner Profile attribute of being an Inquirer. Below is the list of students and the words that were said about them by their teachers. 

Grade 6

Revel Bond: This student is a naturally curious learner who thrives on asking thoughtful questions and seeking deeper understanding. His intense desire to know "why" drives him to independently research topics of interest, demonstrating a true love of learning. He not only inquires with enthusiasm but also asks insightful follow-up questions that push discussions further. His commitment to inquiry and discovery will serve him well as a lifelong learner.

Raquel Ganc: This student is a passionate and inquisitive learner who approaches research with depth and purpose. She makes meaningful connections between civilizations, exploring cultures and histories with curiosity and insight. Always seeking feedback with a smile, she continuously refines her work, demonstrating a true commitment to excellence. Her perceptive observations and thoughtful questions drive her to deeper understanding, allowing her to make connections that extend beyond the classroom and into the global community.

 

Grade 7

Leah Platzek: Leah embodies the spirit of an inquirer through her fearless curiosity and determination to fully understand every concept she encounters. She never hesitates to ask questions—often the ones others are afraid to ask—and her persistence reflects a genuine love of learning. Leah’s enthusiasm and courage in seeking knowledge make her deserving of this recognition.

Samuel Owen: Sam demonstrates the qualities of an inquirer through his developing confidence and natural curiosity. He has shown a great deal of growth this year, thanks to his inquisitive nature. His thoughtful questions and kind demeanor reflect his genuine desire to learn and connect with others, and are key traits of an Inquirer.

 

Grade 8

Shirley Chen: A student whose intellectual curiosity knows no bounds, this inquirer challenges both themselves and their peers with thoughtful, sophisticated questions. Their ability to explore complex ideas and delve into higher-level thinking is well beyond their years, demonstrating a passion for inquiry that extends across disciplines. With a keen mind and an eagerness to understand the 'why' behind every concept, they exemplify the spirit of deep learning and inspire those around them to think more critically and expansively.

Sophia Dulski: An incredibly curious and dedicated student, this inquirer constantly strives to dig deeper, uncovering layers of information, techniques, and answers beyond the surface. With an enthusiasm for learning that shines through in every task, they embrace challenges with determination and a desire to understand concepts in meaningful depth. Their inquisitive nature and reflective approach inspire those around them to look beyond the obvious and engage more deeply in their own learning.
