MS IB Learner Profile Awards – Principled winners

This week, during assembly, we recognized students selected by the grade-level teams for being students who embody the IB Learner Profile attribute of Principled. Below is the list of students and the words that were said about them by their teachers. 

 

Grade 6:

Griffin Glassman: The principled award goes to a student who truly leads by example. Griffin consistently does what’s right, even when no one is watching. He brings others back on track, treats everyone with fairness, and can work well with anyone. Griffin's actions show integrity, respect, and responsibility every single day.

Xavier Dicoi: Xavier shows integrity no matter what’s happening around him. He's hardworking, respectful, and always takes responsibility for his choices. Xavier reminds others of what’s right and leads with quiet confidence and honesty. We’re proud to recognize this student for always doing the right thing!

 

Grade 7:

Rafael Pedreira: This Scot demonstrates the principled learner profile through his willingness to stand up for what is right, both in academic settings and beyond. Rafael encourages his peers to rise to higher standards, always leading with integrity and fairness. Whether helping his advisor clean up a mess that wasn’t his or lifting others up with his support, he consistently models responsibility and a strong sense of justice.

Aiden Breit: Aiden represents the principled learner profile by modeling honesty and fairness, even when it requires courage in challenging social situations. Guided by his strong values, he inspires others to make ethical choices and leads quietly but powerfully through example. Aiden's respect for others and commitment to making sure everyone feels included reflect a deep sense of integrity and responsibility.

 

Grade 8:

Emilia Sanabria: Emilia consistently demonstrates integrity and honesty in all aspects of school life. She approaches every situation with fairness and respect, valuing the dignity and rights of everyone around her. Taking responsibility for her actions and decisions, Emiilia serves as a role model for others, showing that principled behavior is both thoughtful and courageous. Her commitment to doing what is right, even when it is challenging, exemplifies the true meaning of being principled.

Mateo Miller: Mateo embodies the qualities of a principled learner through his strong sense of fairness, responsibility, and respect for others. He acts with honesty in his interactions and takes accountability for his actions, demonstrating maturity and thoughtfulness. Mateo's consistent integrity, combined with a commitment to upholding the rights and dignity of all members of the community, makes him a standout example of principled behavior.

 

Faculty Member:

Jose Pozo: This member of our team embodies the Principled attribute with exceptional clarity and impact. In a role that demands the highest ethical standards, this winner consistently operates with absolute honesty and profound integrity, setting a standard for the entire school community. They demonstrate an unwavering commitment to fairness and justice in every decision, readily take responsibility for their actions, and lead by example in all conflicts and complex situations. Furthermore, their consistent practice of treating every student, staff member, and family with unwavering respect and dignity makes them a truly essential and exceptionally principled leader and mentor.
