Kindergarten Students View the Sun with Mr. Scheidegger

Kindergarten student looking through a telescope

Kindergarten students have been learning all about the solar system. As part of their lesson on the sun, the students had the opportunity to look at the sun through one of Mr. Scheidegger's telescopes. Mr. Scheidegger put a special filter on the lens of his telescope and then helped each student look through the telescope to view the sun and find the sunspots.

Each student also received a pair of safe solar viewing glasses so that they could look up at the sky and see the sun without hurting their eyes. Many of the students were amazed by what they saw and had lots to say about what they were viewing both through the telescope and through their special glasses.
