IB Diploma Programme Visual Art Opening Exhibition

Christina DeCario and Laurel Pawlik talking at The IB Diploma Programme Visual Art Opening Exhibition

The IB Diploma Programme Visual Art Opening Exhibition held an opening reception in the Cohen Center on Thursday, April 3.

Featured in the exhibit are the works of senior IB Diploma Programme visual art students Gabrielle Aron '25, Malika Mckeith-Wellington '25, Laurel Pawlik '25, Hayden Thau '25, Julia Walton '25, and Anthem Bond '25. The students stood proudly next to their curated works, excited to share both their artwork and their two-year journey in this course. On display were ceramic and sculptural works, as well as a variety of mixed-media pieces, paintings, and drawings. If you haven't seen the show yet, it’s certainly not to be missed.

The school is incredibly proud of the students' accomplishments and is pleased to celebrate their artistic achievements. Best wishes are extended for their future success in their artistic endeavors.

Visual art offers a powerful means of expression, using tools that connect intellect and emotion, bring meaning and beauty into our lives, solve problems, and communicate ideas. The IBDP Visual Arts course is student-centered, with exploration at the heart of a holistic learning experience. Students identify, select, and explore artists, artworks, cultural contexts, and media that excite and interest them. This exhibit is part of the students’ official IB internal assessment, as well as a way to showcase their artwork. All are welcome to experience what the IB Diploma students have to offer.
