Grade 6 math students in Ms. Yowell's and Ms. Anik's math classes took part in a real-world math activity where the students pretended to go to a restaurant. The students were put into groups of 3 or 4 and given menus to El Camino. Each table had to decide on an appetizer to share as well as what each person was going to have for their main entree. Depending on the cost of the items, the students had to figure out how to properly use percentages so that every person in the group paid their fair share of the bill.
