Celebrating the Student Members of the South Florida Youth Pride Band

South Florida Youth Pride Band with Carter and Astor

The South Florida Youth Pride Band, a vibrant ensemble dedicated to promoting equality and unity through music, serves as a beacon of empowerment for young musicians across the region. Comprising individuals from diverse backgrounds, this ensemble cultivates a safe and welcoming space for performance and collaboration, while offering masterclasses with renowned composers and conductors, auditioned solo opportunities, and over $200K in college scholarships for local high school musicians.

Among the talented individuals who have contributed their musical prowess to this inspiring initiative are two members of the Saint Andrew's School Symphonic Band, Carter Scott '25 (Euphonium) and Astor Stein '25 (Trumpet). With their passion for music and commitment to inclusivity, these students have not only enriched the band's repertoire but have also embodied the spirit of acceptance and understanding. Moreover, their involvement in this band reflects the Saint Andrew's School core values of compassion, respect, and diversity.  By embracing the rich tapestry of humanity and celebrating individual differences, these students exemplify the school's dedication to nurturing well-rounded individuals who contribute positively to society. We are very proud of you, Carter and Astor!
