Bacterial Transformation and Preparing Solutions Labs

Saint Andrew's students in biology lab.

Labs, Beakers, and Bacteria! Upper School Chemistry and AP Biology students have spent the past two weeks diving into hands-on experiments in Mrs. Ledesma’s science classes.

In Chemistry, mostly made up of sophomores, students practiced solution preparation—carefully calculating and mixing varying concentrations of compounds like sodium. Click here to see more photos.

Meanwhile, seniors in AP Biology conducted a biotechnology lab on Bacterial Transformation, successfully creating genetically modified E. coli that glowed under UV light and resisted ampicillin. Click here to see more photos.
