An Egg-stra Special Science Lesson

Mr. Cornett holding a baby chicken and letting a grade 1 student pet it as students look on

As part of their investigations of animal life cycles, grade 1 students have been incubating chicken eggs in the science lab while learning about chicken embryo development.

The development takes approximately 21 days after the start of incubation. This year, we had 8 eggs fully develop through day 21, and all 8 hatched this week!

Students have been enjoying meeting the chicks, and they will return to the farm and the hens on Friday afternoon.
