Dress Code

Regular Dress  

• Solid colored blue, red, white, black, or hunter green polo shirt with Saint Andrew’s name and/or crest (new items must be purchased at Jonathan Reed or the SAS Bookstore) 

• Royal Stewart plaid, navy or khaki skort - the length of skorts must be fingertip length or longer 

• Khaki or navy knee-length shorts (no cargo or jean/rivet style) 

• Long khaki or navy pants (jean style pants are not permitted)

• Belt 

• Enclosed shoes or sneakers 

• Saint Andrew’s or plain (no visible branding) sweatshirt 

Physical and Health Education Uniform   

• White or red Saint Andrew’s athletic department or physical education department t-shirt or any Saint Andrew’s spirit t-shirt

• Red or black, mesh PHE shorts or skort with the Saint Andrew’s logo (non-Nike)

• Athletic, cross-trainer or court shoes

• One-piece bathing suit (a swim shirt over a one piece bathing suit is permitted) and towel for swimming (when swimming is in session)

• Toiletries, including roll-on deodorant (spray deodorant not permitted) 

Dance

• Specific uniform guidelines exist for students enrolled in dance 

  • Saint Andrew's Dance Attire Requirements 

• On days when students have Dance class, students will be permitted to change in and out of their dance uniform before and after dance class 

Spirit Dress 

• Red polo shirt with Saint Andrew’s name and/or crest 

• Khaki skort, khaki shorts, or long khaki pants and belt 

• Enclosed shoes or sneakers

Special-Occasion Dress 

• White, collared blouse or collared, button-down shirt (non-polo) (tucked in) and tie 

• Long, khaki trousers or Royal Stewart Tartan plaid skort

• Belt (in the case of trousers)

• Closed-toed, low-heeled shoes 

• Optional - Navy or dark blazer, sweater vest, or cardigan sweater in solid navy, black, red, white, or gray 

Additional Guidance for Cold-Weather Dress 

Cold-weather dress may be implemented on any day when the weather forecast predicts that the temperature will drop below 60℉/15℃.

Non-Physical and Health Education Day

• Long, khaki or navy pants (jean-style pants or sweatpants are not permitted)

• Solid red, navy, or black leggings or tights worn under a skort (leggings on their own are not permitted)

• Saint Andrew’s or plain (no graphics) sweatshirt

• Enclosed shoes or sneakers 

Physical and Health Education Day

• Solid red, navy, or black leggings or tights worn under PHE shorts (leggings on their own are not permitted)

• Solid red, navy, gray, or black sweatpants

• Saint Andrew’s or plain (no graphics) sweatshirt

• Sneakers

School Sports 

On the day of a match or meet, students are permitted to wear their sport team uniform top with dress-code-compliant bottoms, unless otherwise instructed 

Shoes

Shoes must be completely enclosed; no clogs, mules, open-toed shoes, or sandals of any kind are allowed

Hair

Hair must be clean and neatly groomed

Other

Visible body piercing (other than ears), hats, caps, bandanas, tattoos, excessive makeup, facial hair, sunglasses (in the classroom) are not appropriate accessories for school 

Casual-Dress Guidelines

Periodically casual dress days will be announced. Students may choose to wear: dresses, t-shirts with sleeves and either jeans, leggings, dress shorts (must have 4” or longer inseam), skirts, or PHE shorts. While these items are meant to be a guide, the list is not exhaustive. All clothing should be tasteful, school-appropriate, and within the boundaries of Saint Andrew’s School culture.

The following is not permitted for students of any gender:

• Tight-fitting sports shorts or excessively short shorts

• Tank tops 

• Exposed midriffs or cleavage 

• Inappropriate images or slogans/phrases on apparel 

• Apparel with holes or rips
