College Admissions Report 2017

College Admissions Statistics for the 2016-17 Academic Year
 
  • 154 students applied to colleges in the US and abroad

  • Approximately 83% applied Early Decision or Early Action to 115 colleges and universities - Over 92% of those students were accepted to at least one of their top choice colleges

  • 1387 applications were completed

  • The students applied to 325 different institutions

  • 93 different institutions will be attended
    • 50 are different from institutions attended by the Class of 2016
Overall, 70% of the class applying to US colleges was admitted to a college ranked as “Most Competitive” or “Highly Competitive” in the 2017 Barron’s Guide to Colleges.
  • 56% of the Class of 2017 was admitted to a college ranked in the “Most Competitive” category
On another measure, 57% of the of the class applying to US colleges was admitted to a top 50 institution from the National Universities and National Liberal Arts Colleges categories in the US News and World Report rankings. Twenty percent of the class was admitted to the top 25 institutions in those categories.
  • Eight students are choosing to pursue higher education outside the United States

  • Over sixty students earned more than $8 million in merit-based scholarships from different colleges and universities
