Palm Beach Post Highlights Alumna McKenna Keith’s Triumph over Cancer

Alumna McKenna Keith and her family see bright horizons in this new year after her battle with cancer. The Palm Beach Post reports that McKenna, now a Florida State senior swimmer, and former Saint Andrew’s School All-American, is now cancer free after months of treating Hodgkin’s Lymphoma.

As a Scot, McKenna earned three-time All-American status in the 200- and 400-yard freestyle relays and 400-yard medley relay during her time with Saint Andrew’s School.

This past September, The Palm Beach Post featured McKenna’s story in an article focusing on the GoFundMe account her teammates started to raise money for her rent payments and medical expenses.

After a brief hiatus from collegiate studies and competition as well as months of chemotherapy at the Lynn Cancer Institute near her home in Boca Raton, McKenna is returning to Florida State this semester to complete her swimming career and graduate with the senior class.

“McKenna Keith is the embodiment of what a true Scot should always be - strong, committed, resilient, humble, passionate and full of a fighting spirit that never gives up,” said Sid Cassidy, Aquatics Director.

“On her way to becoming an All-American swimmer at Saint Andrew’s, she had plenty of ups and downs but stayed the course and became an NCAA D1 athlete. Her incredible ability to unassumingly share both love and strength simply by jumping in our pool has been a blessing for all of us,” he added.

The Scots community has continued to send warmest wishes and many blessings to McKenna and her family. Read more about McKenna’s journey in beating cancer in the Palm Beach Post at:
