Saint Andrew’s Chinese Teachers Awarded 2017-18 ‘Teacher of the Year’

The Florida Chinese Teachers Association (FCTA) acknowledged Florence Lee, Middle School Chinese teacher as the 2017-2018 FCTA Teacher of the Year, an honor sponsored by the University of South Florida.

“This award demonstrates the amazing work that Mrs. Lee is doing for Chinese students at Saint Andrew’s School,” said Mrs. Ann Haynes, Head of the Middle School. “On behalf of her colleagues here at SA, I wish to congratulate her on this recognition,” she said.

At the closing ceremony, Chinese Language Department Chair, Hua Zhang, also received the 2017 ‘Teacher of the Year’ award from Florida Foreign Language Association (FFLA) and was elected as the Curriculum Committee Chair of Florida Chinese Teachers Association (FCTA).

“We are privileged to have a strong Mandarin Chinese program lead by the expertise of Hua Zhang,” said Dr. Gregg Good, Head of the Upper School.
