Saint Andrew’s Senior Students Nominated for Outstanding Lead Actress and Outstanding Stage Management for the Kravis Center Dream Awards

In mid-February, members of the Saint Andrew’s community filled the seats of Roberts Theater to see the Upper School’s production of Freaky Friday. The musical was a great show full of heartfelt, poignant, and funny moments that highlighted all the talented students in Saint Andrew’s Performing Arts. Two of our students did not go unnoticed by a team of adjudicators from the Kravis Center in West Palm Beach.

Maya Sharma ‘23 who played the lead role of Ellie Blake, was nominated as Outstanding Lead Actress for the Kravis Center Dream Awards for her performance. Tylaah George ‘23, Production Stage Manager, was nominated for Outstanding Stage Management.

As an Outstanding Lead Actress nominee, Maya will rehearse with the other nominees from May 30-June 4, while Tylaah will work on the Technical Crew with students from other schools. Their rehearsals will culminate in a performance in Dreyfoos Hall at the Kravis Center at 7 pm on Sunday, June 4. The performance is open to the public. Tickets may be purchased by calling the Kravis Center Box Office at 561.832.7469 or online via this link.

The Kravis Center Dream Awards recognizes outstanding student achievement in musical theater productions and culminates in a showcase in Dreyfoos Hall. Two students who perform in the showcase will be nominated to participate in The Jimmy Awards, the National High School Musical Theatre Awards, in New York City.

Director of Performing Arts Laurie Riffe shared, “I could not be more proud of our students Tylaah and Maya. This recognition of their very hard work is extremely well-deserved. I am thrilled for them both to have the opportunity to further their own artistry and growth in the Performing Arts. Brava!”
