Saint Andrew's Swimming and Diving Place 3rd at FHSAA State Championships
Coach Sid Cassidy stated that the 2022 Saint Andrew's Swimming and Diving season proved to be one of the most challenging, but the athletes and coaching staff responded to that challenge.
The girls finished 3rd as a team at the FHSAA Class 1A State Meet that was delayed as a result of Hurricane Nicole. Aspen Gersper earned another state championship title in the 100-yard freestyle (49:15) which was a different event from the year before. The girls' team finish included a very strong relay performance which resulted in automatic All-American accolades coming in both freestyle relay events.
After overcoming a controversial disqualification in the first relay event, the boys' team charged back to finish the meet strong and also claimed a 3rd place finish. Diego Balbi set both a Palm Beach County and school record with his silver medal 100-yard butterfly (47.36) race that also earned him automatic All-American recognition.
Congratulations to the Saint Andrew's swimming and diving team on another outstanding year for the Scots!
