Saint Andrew’s Art Teacher Named 2022 Elementary Art Educator Award Winner
Saint Andrew’s School is pleased to share that Lower School art teacher, Lark Keeler, was recently named the Florida Art Education Association (FAEA) 2022 Elementary Art Educator Award Winner.
In addition to providing Saint Andrew’s Lower School students with an exceptional visual arts curriculum, Keeler is a member of the Florida Alliance for Arts Education. She recently completed a term on the Delray Beach Public Art Advisory Board, is a museum educator for NSU Art Museum Fort Lauderdale, and holds workshops at the Patricia and Phillip Frost Art Museum at FIU.
Lark said she is grateful for this recent recognition from FAEA because she believes in teaching others to create something they care about and enjoy the process more than the final product.
“There really is no greater joy than having the opportunity to help a child express themselves and find their voice in any way they can,” said Keeler. “It’s something pretty magical to be an art teacher, to be a guide for students along that journey.”
The FAEA recognizes individuals within the membership who have achieved the highest level of professionalism in art education. Keeler will receive the award at the FAEA Annual Conference in October.
A non-profit, independent, co-educational school for grades Pre-K - 12, Saint Andrew's School is a private day and boarding school located in Boca Raton, educating the best students from across Palm Beach County, Florida, the United States, and throughout the world in the Episcopal tradition.
