Swimming and Diving Dominate District Championships
Saint Andrew’s Swimming and Diving dominated at the Duff Tyler Aquatic Complex winning both the boys and the girls overall team district titles. The girls earned 597 total points outscoring The King's Academy who put up 545 total team points. The boys totaled 560.5 points and also outscored The King's Academy by 35 points to bring home both the FHSAA Class 1A District 10 trophies.
Kaeden Dunham ‘23 (diving), Aspen Gersper ‘24, Ella Martinez ‘22, and LoganZielinski ‘24 earned individual district champion titles in their events for the girls. Diego Balbi ‘24 took first place in the 100 butterfly and Oliver Dunham '27 claimed the district championship in 1 meter diving. Senior Kacper Rafal earned two district titles for our boys squad in the 50 yard freestyle and the 100 yard freestyle.
The girls 400 yard freestyle relay broke a 2006 Duff Tyler Aquatic Complex pool record. The team of Gersper, senior Nicole Aguilar, junior Erin Miller, and Martinez broke the 15 year old record by over a tenth of a second with a time of 3:32.43. For the first time in school history, the entire Scots' girls team will be advancing to the regional meet. On the boys side, fourteen of the sixteen district athletes are moving on to the Regional Championship to be held at Nova Southeastern University on Friday, October 29. Regional competition will serve as the final qualifier for the State Championships to be held on Saturday, November 6 in Stuart.
