Saint Andrew's Swimming and Diving Wins 14th Straight County Title

For the 11th year in a row, Saint Andrew’s captured the Palm Beach County Swimming and Diving Championship Title. Friday night’s Finals performances at Lake Lytal Aquatic Center were absolutely electric. Our Scots earned a total of 719.5 points, outscoring The King's Academy by 17.5 points with spectacular relay performances to close the meet.
Senior Kacper Rafal won the 50 yard free with a time of 21.48. Sophomore Diego Balbi won the 100 yard fly by more than 3 seconds with a time of 50.15. Aspen Gersper, a sophomore, won both of her individual events by 4 seconds each and was named swimmer of the meet. Her 200 free earned first with a time of 1:48.03 and her 100 yard butterfly was a 54.84.

Scot’s pride reigned in the opening and closing relays of the evening.  The boys 200 medley relay of Aitor Arese - Igor, Matt Aronsohn, Diego Balbi, and Kacper was the fastest in the county, out touching Boca High by over 3 seconds. The boys 400 free relay was led off by sophomores Ambrus Barcsak and Diego Balbi.  Junior Aitor Arrese-Igor and senior Kacper Rafal solidified the win for the Scots. Our 400 free girls relay not only won first, but set two meet records. Aspen Gersper led the relay and her 100 yard split of 50.08 set a new meet record. Fellow sophomore Logananne Zielinski continued the lead and handed off to seniors Nicole Aguilar and Ella Martinez to break the meet record set by Saint Andrew’s in 2019 by over a second.

The Saint Andrew's divers had strong performances as well with junior Kaeden Dunham leading the way for the Scots placing 2nd in the meet. Continuing on the girls side, senior Ashley Kelly finished 5th followed by 6th grader Millie Cochrane who placed 13th out of 24 divers. Our young diving team continued to shine with 7th grader Oliver Dunham finishing 5th in the meet.

Congratulations to our swimmers, divers, and coaches and good luck as you continue your season. Go Scots!
