Saint Andrew’s Launches Major Revision of Social Media Platform for Alumni

Saint Andrew’s alumni comprise a global community of 6,200 loyal Scots. A newly revised social media platform, introduced just one week ago, invites all alumni to be part of a network supported by leading edge technology designed exclusively for them.

“SA Connect is a state-of-the-art engagement tool and a one-stop shop for everything alumni, including social networking, events, career opportunities, and more,” said Alumni Development Officer Victor Agapay’02. “If an alum wants to connect with the Saint Andrew’s community, this is the first stop.”

The new portal offers a suite of benefits for alumni, including career and mentoring opportunities, business promotion, professional development, as well as a running feed related to school news and events.

Agapay said SA parents also have an opportunity to utilize the platform, which provides options for business promotion and ways to post job opportunities and internships for alumni, along with other resources.

“We hope our SA parents also join, in order to help our younger alumni especially be successful,” said Agapay. “We welcome anything our parents can do to help alumni. We want the value of the Saint Andrew’s network to be a lifelong benefit for all our alumni.”

In just a few days, engagement on SA Connect jumped from 10 to 150 users, a testament to the fact that SA alums appreciate opportunities to connect with fellow Scots, no matter where they live.

“I often have alums who tell me they are opening an art gallery or hosting an event in New York and they wish they could reach out to other SA alums in their area, the New Saint Andrews Connect will help facilitate this type of networking” said Agapay.

As SA Connect grows, so will the opportunities. Agapay said he is already working on an SA Connect update that is sure to be a big draw—password-protected access to decades of yearbook photos!
