Saint Andrew’s School is proud to acknowledge four seniors, Angela McCall, Emily Husken, Ellie Tymorek, and Nicholas Horowitz, who were recognized as Pathfinder winners at the 38th annual Pathfinder High School Scholarship Awards Ceremony.
The Pathfinder Awards are presented each year to high school seniors in Palm Beach and Martin counties who have demonstrated outstanding achievement in 18 different categories. The winners were announced on Thursday, May 27, 2021, in a virtual ceremony.
This year, 516 students from 48 high schools were nominated for the prestigious awards, before judges reviewed letters, applications and conducted interviews to determine the category winners.
In total, 54 students were recognized in the academic, athletic, and vocational categories at the virtual awards ceremony. Saint Andrew’s winners were named in the following categories:
Angela McCall - First Place; Arts
Emily Husken - First Place; Foreign Language
Ellie Tymorek - Second Place; Sports
Nicholas Horowitz - Third Place; Computer Engineering
The Pathfinder High School Scholarship Awards are sponsored by The Palm Beach Post. These awards are presented each year to recognize excellence and to encourage high school students to one day bring their considerable talents to the communities where each received a start on the path to a good education and a rewarding career.
Each of the 18 first-place winners receives a $3,000 scholarship, while second and third place winners receive scholarships worth $2,000 and $1,500, respectively. Top winners in each category also received the special "astrolabe" trophy, a symbol of the path each student may follow in the world and the leadership and direction each may provide for others in the future.
Congratulations to our Senior Scots!
