Seven Scots Compete at FHSAA State Track and Field Meet; Tymorek and Mule Claim State Titles

Seven members of the Saint Andrew's Track and Field team competed in the FHSAA Class 2A State Championship Meet at the University of North Florida on Saturday, May 8. The Scots did not disappoint with all seven finishing in the top 11 in their events. 

Seniors Ellie Tymorek and Matthew Mule both brought home an individual state championship title in their events. Tymorek was the individual state champion in the 3200m run with a time of 11:00.90. She also finished 5th in the 1600m run with a time of 5:10.07. Mule claimed the individual state championship title in the 1600m run with a time of 4:11.31 which was the 2nd fastest time out of all classifications in the state. Mule also competed in the 800m run finishing 2nd with a time of 1:55.89.

Other outstanding performances came from Ian Noble, Tori Schrubb, Will Romac, Eleazar Martin, and Jeremiah Young. Noble made a visit to the podium with a 3rd place finish in the 3200m run with a time of 9:18.87. He also finished 8th in the 1600m run (4:22.73). Tori Schrubb, Saint Andrew's current high jump record holder, finished 5th in the high jump at the state meet with a jump of 1.57m (5'-1 3/4").

Will Romac ran a personal best in the 3200m run with a time of 9:41.20 finishing 10th in that event. Eleazar Martin, who currently holds the school record in the 110m hurdles, finished 11th in the event at the state meet in a time of 16s. Finally, Jeremiah Young, also a school record holder in the javelin, finished 11th with a throw of 43.24m (141'-10").
