Girls and Boys Tennis Repeat as FHSAA Class 1A State Champions

The girls and boys Saint Andrew's tennis teams both claimed the FHSAA Class 1A State Championships today in Kissimmee, FL. The Scots were the 2019 defending state champions and were unable to defend their titles last year due to COVID-19.

The girls secured the state championship team title for the 5th consecutive year and the boys are back-to-back state champions. On the girls side, the Scots didn't drop a single match defeating Pensacola Catholic (5-0), Riviera Prep (4-0), and Community School (5-0). Senior Sara Snyder and the doubles team of Snyder and Madison Smith both at the #1 position advanced to for the overall individual state titles. Sara won the overall individual singles title on Wednesday, April 28 and followed that up with an individual doubles State Championship title with her partner Madison Smith.

The boys only dropped one match on their way to the Scots repeat State Championship title. The boys defeated Pensacola Catholic (5-1), Ransom Everglades (5-0), and St. Stephen's (4-0) to hoist the trophy once again. The #1 doubles team of Jacob Lowen and Andres Fente competed on Wednesday, April 28 for the overall doubles title winning the overall individual doubles team championship.

Congratulations to both teams and to coaches Reid Rafter and Beth Gordon on another outstanding year for the Scots!
