Boys and Girls Golf Claim District Championship Titles
The varsity boys and girls golf teams competed in the FHSAA Class 1A District 14 tournaments this week for a chance to advance to the regional championship.
The girls teed it up on Monday at Boca Country Club and claimed the district tournament title by a margin of 46 strokes. Juniors Amelie Alcantara and Hope Hall were the tournament co-medalists each shooting a 74 for their rounds. Gabriella Albert, Alana Hall, and Lauren Susick rounded out the district championship team.
The boys competed against American Heritage, Saint John Paul II Academy, and Lake Worth Christian on Tuesday at Winston Trails Golf Club in the district tournament. The Scots did not disappoint also claiming the district title by 16 strokes. Senior Justin Ross won the tournament medalist title after a single playoff hole shooting an even par score of 72 in regulation. Congratulations to Justin, Char Russekoff, Rene Nicolas, Mason Tome, and Casey Granata for their solid play today.
The boys and girls will travel to Key Biscayne next week to play Crandon Park in the regional championships. Go Scots!
