Scots Volleyball Powerful in Season Opener

The Scots opened the COVID-19 delayed 2020 season in impressive fashion at North Broward Prep on Saturday afternoon.

The Scots Junior Varsity team set the tone with a 2-0 consecutive set victory versus the Eagles. Coach Dawn Jones said she was excited for the kids and for what it says about the program in general. “We are definitely growing as a program with a number of freshmen on JV whose skill level collectively is higher than what we’ve seen in past seasons.”

The Varsity team then took the court and imposed their will on NBP, winning 3 sets to nil. Seniors Haley Meister and Holy Cross commit Sarah Stokes accounted for 10 kills and 31 assists, respectively, to lead the way for the Scots. Freshman Morgan Mattson added 9 kills, while sophomore Lily Condon tallied 7. Cristi Haley provided the grit for the Scots with a team leading 13 digs. Go Scots!
