We hope that you are well, and we are looking forward to seeing you back on campus soon. Our athletic department has been working in collaboration with other athletic administrators throughout Florida, the Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA), and the National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS), in addition to following local, state, and federal guidelines to confirm plans for our program in the coming months.
The FHSAA’s Board of Directors voted to officially delay the start of the fall athletic season to August 24. The board will meet again on August 14 to evaluate this start date and the recommendations of the FHSAA Sports Medicine Advisory Committee.
Our school’s primary focus is to make all necessary arrangements to safely welcome students back to campus for in-person learning. Saint Andrew’s has developed a comprehensive approach to maximize health and safety for our student-athletes, coaches, and staff while engaging in athletic activities. Our detailed return to participation plan is in alignment with the guidance and recommendations of the CDC as well as the FHSAA and NFHS Sports Medicine Advisory Committees.
We will continue to monitor this constantly-changing landscape and will evaluate the potential of offering voluntary athletic conditioning opportunities prior to the start of school. As we get closer to welcoming our student-athletes back on campus we will provide additional guidance and communication pertaining to specific dates as well as our phase-based protocols.
Our dedicated coaches and athletic department will continue to provide programming and engage our student-athletes in a virtual setting prior to our hopeful in-person return on campus.
