Ellie Tymorek Finishes 2nd at FHSAA State Cross Country Meet; Boys Team Places 6th

The varsity boys cross country team and three members of the girls varsity team competed in the FHSAA Class 2A State Cross Country Meet on Saturday, November 9 at Apalachee Regional Park in Tallahassee.

Junior Ellie Tymorek finished 2nd at the state meet with a championship time of 17:47.06. Ellie was followed by teammates Helmi Peipinen (24th - 19:27.17) and Lydia Szakacs (45th - 20:04.80). This was an extremely impressive showing for the Scots in a field of 222 runners.

The boys varsity cross country team did not disappoint and finished in 6th place at the state championship meet in a field of 32 teams and 230 runners. The top finisher for the Scots was Damien Carlsson (26th - 16:49.71) followed by Ian Noble (39th - 17:02.88), Will Romac (41st - 17:02.94), Jack May (43rd - 17:05.71), Chris Warren (108th - 18:01.35), Tristan Moss (122nd - 18:12.63), and Dean Deligiannis (156th - 18:42.74).

Congratulations to both the varsity boys and girls cross country teams on another outstanding year for the Scots!
