Girls Golf Finishes Fourth at FHSAA State Championships

The varsity girls golf team competed in the Class 1A FHSAA State Championships. This two-day event was held at Mission Inn Resort and Club in Howey in the Hills on November 1-2, 2019.

The Scots finished fifth in the regional finals the week prior, but were fortunate to receive a state at large bid as one of the top teams in Florida. The girls entered the state tournament as the eighth seed out of sixteen teams. After the first round the Scots were in third place due to Sophomore Amelie Alcantara's sold play finishing -2 on the day with an eagle on the 18th hole.

The team battled during the second round shooting five strokes better than the day before, but were passed by Circle Christian with the Scots finishing in fourth place for the tournament and the top team from our region. Amelie Alcantara finished the tournament individually tied for eighth with a two day total of 143 (70, 73).

Congratulations to Coach Pam Elders, Amelie Alcantara, Gabriella Albert, Jennie Pan, Alana Hall, and Hope Hall on an exciting year for Saint Andrew's. Go Scots!
