Boca Raton is home to top-performing companies, leading entrepreneurs, and successful corporate headquarters. It’s no wonder that right around the corner from prestigious businesses is the award-winning Entrepreneurial Studies Program at Saint Andrew’s School. On Friday, September 20, 2019, Saint Andrew’s School’s Entrepreneurial Studies Program was presented with the Award for the Most Outstanding Academic Program by Palm Beach Illustrated.
The Palm Beach Illustrated’s annual Education Awards program recognized schools that are making an impressive impact on education in the Palm Beaches. At the Education Awards ceremony at the Norton Museum of Art, Saint Andrew’s School’s Award-Winning Entrepreneurial Program ousted quality competitors such as Oxbridge’s Cambridge Scholars Program and Palm Beach Day Academy’s Coral Project.
“This is such an exciting opportunity and a great honor for Saint Andrew’s School,” said Dr. Gregg Good, Head of Upper School. Dr. Good proudly accepted the award at the evening ceremony.
Recognizing that Palm Beach Illustrated is a widely read and influential publication in the area, Saint Andrew’s School is proud to earn this leading-edge distinction for its Entrepreneurial Program. Not only does Palm Beach Illustrated continue to reach over 221,000 readers each month, but the publication also shares some of SA’s values, such as a commitment to literacy and the advancement of education.
Cathy Jennings, Saint Andrew’s School’s Dean of Studies, was a pivotal leader in curating the award-winning Entrepreneurial Program. “Saint Andrew’s academic mission is to provide our students with strong preparation for success in college and beyond,” she said. “Courses like Honors Investments and Entrepreneurship, Social Entrepreneurship, and TED-Ed are next-generation classes that enable our top young minds to lead businesses of the future.”
The Entrepreneurial program courses are available to students in grades 10-12 and take place in the new $8 million Dr. Albert Cohen Family Center for Entrepreneurial Studies. The Cohen Center, at over 13,000 square feet, is a hub for innovation on campus, featuring 21st-century classrooms, collaborative meeting spaces, and Kessler Digital Media Institute.
Additionally, students come from all over Palm Beach County to work with local leaders of industry and write business plans as part of the Young Entrepreneurial Academy (YEA) program at Saint Andrew’s School. Established by Boca Chamber’s Education Foundation, YEA is a cutting-edge educational program open to students in grades 6-12 in the local area who are interested in starting and running real businesses.
YEA is a Saint Andrew’s School sponsored program hosted at the Dr. Albert Cohen Family Center for Entrepreneurial Studies. Participation in YEA is a great way for Middle School and High School students interested in applying to Saint Andrew’s School to have an opportunity to come to campus each week and be part of the magic of innovation and entrepreneurship that live within the walls of the Cohen Center.
As local business leaders, travelers, and visitors continue to rely on Palm Beach Illustrated as their guide leading them to new discoveries in industry, travel, dining, entertainment, and fashion, Saint Andrew’s Entrepreneurial Program is an important compass point for families seeking the best academic program for their children.
At Saint Andrew’s School, there is no doubt that the award-winning Entrepreneurial Program is an essential engine that launches the CEOs of tomorrow towards a successful and innovative future.
