Four Scots Qualify for State Track and Field Meet; Records Broken
The Saint Andrew's track and field team competed in the regional meet today in Titusville, FL. It was a tremendous showing for the Scots with two school records broken and four student-athletes qualifying for the state meet.
Ellie Tymorek qualified for the state meet in both the 1600m and 3200m runs. Ellie finished 5th in the 1600m run and finished 2nd in the 3200m run breaking the school record with a time of 10:57.5. Nicole Whitaker finished 2nd in the discus with a throw of 138 ft and Nate Gramentine also finished 2nd in the high jump clearing 6-5.5 ft. Lydia Szakacs finished 9th in the 3200 m run to get an at large bid allowing her to advance to the state meet.
Although not qualifying for the state meet, the boys 4x100 relay team comprised of Nate Gramentine, Jonah Kotzen, Sebastian Roberts, and Ben Mores set a new school record with a time of 44.48.
The FHSAA State Track and Field Meet will be held on May 3-4, 2019 at the University of North Florida. Congratulations to both the boys and girls track and field teams on another outstanding season. Go Scots!
