Hayden Sikora '20 Competes at FHSAA State Wrestling Tournament

Hayden Sikora '20 became the first Saint Andrew's wrestler to compete in the State Championships since Conor Whipple '13 in 2013. Though Hayden faced a #1 seed from Wakulla High School and lost his first match, he faced a #3 seed from Lemon Bay in the next round and won a thrilling 6-4 victory in overtime. His final match of the day was against eventual third-place winner Neverteson Lahens from Immokalee High School and ended in a technical fall. With this experience under his belt, Hayden is eager to make another run at the tournament his senior year.
Saint Andrew's School is extremely proud of Hayden's accomplishments on wrestling's toughest stage and look forward to seeing more Scots wrestlers qualify for the State Championships next year. Congratulations to Hayden and the entire team as well as coaches Adam Schumer, Joe Mendes, and Jim Scheidegger on an outstanding year. Go Scots!
